Week 12 Starts/Sits Fantasy Football

Week 12 in the Fantasy world marks the start of the playoffs in some leagues. If you are one of those teams, congratulations. Let’s get you ready for primetime with the week 12 Start Em and Sit Em.

Start Em

Quarterbacks

Marcus Mariota. The Titans play the Bears on Sunday. The Bears have only held one QB under 17 points in their last 4 games. Mariota, himself, has more than 19 points in all but one of his last 7 games. This makes him a must start.

Running Back

Rob Kelley. It is time to get this kid in your lineup. He has been ripping apart defenses over the past 3 weeks. Last week he put up 137 yards and 3 TDs against a Packers run defense that was #4 in the league. On paper this may not seem right, but Dallas has given up 22 FPPG in the last 2 on the ground.

Wide Receiver

Michael Crabtree. The Raiders have one of the best offenses in the NFL. Currently they are ranked 5th (394 Yds/game). Carolina ranks 27th in pass defense. Playing Crabtree should be automatic at WR2, WR3, or Flex spot this week.

Tight End

Zach Ertz. The Packers defense is atrocious. If you have any opposing offensive player you are going to be playing them every week. This is a good week to get in Ertz. Ertz has 9 or more points in 2 of his last 3 games.

Kicker

Greg Zuerlein. The Saints are ranked 30th in the league I pass offense. This should make for a stronger game for Jared Goff. However, with him being a rookie they will find a way to stall on some drives, making this an ideal game for Zuerlein to score big.

Defense

Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins, quietly, have one of the best defenses in the NFL. They are ranked in the top 15 overall and 8th against the pass. Playing a 49ers offense that is 30th in the league makes this defense a solid start.

Sit Em

Quarterback

Alex Smith. Smith was impressive last week against the Bucs. However, this week against the Broncos will be different. The Broncos are the best in the league against QBs (12.5 FPPG). They are coming off their bye week and they are healthy once again. Stay away from Alex Smith.

Running Back

Mark Ingram. Ingram has been solid in the past few weeks. This week, however I would stay away from him against the LA Rams. The Rams are ranked 15th ranked run defense in the NFL (102 yds/game). With that slid front 4 this stats is misleading. I would not play Ingram this week.

Wide Receiver

Terrelle Pryor. The Giants are coming up big when it is needed. That defense has found its stride and especially in the secondary. Stay away from Pryor based on that. Only 2 #1 WRs have found double digits against them.

Tight Ends

Jared Cook. Don’t go all Cook crazy because of the game he had last Sunday. This week will be a different story. The Eagles are one of the best against the TE allowing on 4.7 FPPG. Keep JC on your bench this week.

Kicker

Roberto Aguayo. Aguayo has been impressive since the bye. Last week he actually led all kickers in fantasy points. Not this week though. He plays a Seattle team that only gives up 6.1 FPPG to kickers. Stay away from the rookie in week 12.

Defense

Dallas Cowboys. They may be 9-1 but their defense is not the reason. The Redskins offense is one of the hottest in the NFL. They are ranked 2nd in the league and opposing defenses are only scoring 1 FPPG against them since their bye week.

If you are starting your playoffs his week, make sure you make the right moves. If not, stay in the hunt by making the right moves.
