Fantasy Football Start's and Sits Week 1

Week 1 is one of the hardest weeks to predict in start em and sit em. Most of the owners are usually going with the chalk pick. Here at Rat Pack Sports I will give some of the non-chalk starts and sits. So without further ado, let's get it on.

Start Em

Quarterback

Eli Manning – The Dallas Cowboys defense was decimated during free agency this offseason. They will be easy for a veteran like Manning to pick apart. Playing Manning in week one should be a no brainer.

Running Back

Bilal Powell – Although the New York Jets are one of the worst teams in the league they do have some useful option for fantasy. Powell is one of those options. Buffalo allowed second most yardage in 2016.

Wide Receiver

Pierre Garcon – Garcon will be a leader in the locker room and on the field for the 49ers offense. He will be a central target for Brian Hoyer. Carolina struggled against the pass in 2016. See if that continues.

Tight End

Zach Ertz – The tight end has long been a nemesis for the Washington Redskins defense. That is no different in this game. Ertz often has a huge game against the Redskins. A solid choice for week one.

Kickers

Kai Forbath – The Minnesota Vikings offense will struggle all season long to protect the QB. This will lead to many stalled drives and FG opportunities. If you have Forbath you could get a lot of action out of him.

Houston Texans – This is an easy one. Yes, it is chalk. However, you should score big with this defense. The question for the week will be how many INTs will they get from Blake Bortles?

Sit Em

Quarterback

Drew Brees – Normally you would start Brees. However, week 1 against the Vikings might not be such a good start. The Viking defensive secondary is probably the best part of the team.

Running Back

Kareem Hunt – The rookie flew up draft boards after Spencer Ware got injured. This is just not a good matchup in New England for the Chiefs running game.

Wide Receivers

Sammy Watkins – The Rams will have a primary focus on the run against the Colts. Do not look for much action from Watkins.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron – I look for Ebron to have a big season. The Lions will try to get the big tight end more involved in the passing game. This week is not a good week or that as they play the number 2 defense in the league from 2016.

Kickers

Adam Vinatieri – I do not expect the Colts to move the ball very much this weekend. Therefore, they will not be kicking many FGs. Sit the ageless one.

Defense

Seattle Seahawks – This, again, is an easy sit. You may be a solid defense throughout the season, but week 1 is not the week for fantasy. Aaron Rodgers and new found running game will be a tough matchup.

Remember, the Buccaneers/Dolphins game has been canceled. Keep them out of your lineups.
