Fantasy Football Starts & Sits Week 9

Here we go, week nine of the NFL and fantasy season. Many fantasy leagues are just past the halfway mark. The next couple of weeks are crunch time. I hope that you have been paying attention to our starts n sits. In addition, have you been scouring the waiver wire week in and week out? If so, you should have some solid footing heading towards the playoffs. If not, there is still time but not much. In saying that, here are your week nine starts n sits.

Starts

QB

Mitchell Trubisky – Chicago Bears

Trubisky is one of those QBs that you have to watch and see who he is playing. This week he is a solid play. The Chicago Bears travel to Buffalo to take on the Buffalo Bills. The Bills defense is very giving to opposing QBs.

RB

Nick Chubb – Cleveland Browns

Chubb has the opportunity to take the reins in Cleveland. Last week he laid a fantasy egg with only 9 points against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His week 9 matchup is more favorable against the Kansas City Chiefs. This defense is surrendering almost 6 yards per carry. Look for Chubb to have a solid outing.

WR

Courtland Sutton – Denver Broncos

Sutton has started to excel in the Broncos offense. The young receiver out of SMU is the reason the Broncos were able to trade Demaryius Thomas at the deadline. Look for Sutton to have a solid game against the Houston Texans who will look to double team Emmanuel Sanders.

TE

O.J. Howard – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It is hard to think about starting a Buc in fantasy. However, with the move back to Fitzpatrick and Howard’s productions you could make this one. Howard has 11 or more points in each of four previous games. The Carolina Panthers allow 19 FPPG to TEs.

K

Mason Crosby – Green Bay Packers

Crosby has been a madman since his debacle. Since he has 11 or more fantasy points in recent weeks. Look for that trend to continue against the New England Patriots Sunday Night. They are averaging nine fantasy points to kickers.

Defense

Dallas Cowboys

The matchup this week against the Tennessee Titans plays into the favor of the Cowboys defense. The front of the Cowboys should be able to get to Marcus Mariota. The Titans are allowing three sacks per game. With pressure comes turnovers.

Sits

QB

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons

The Redskins are a fast-rising defense. The Falcons are horrible on the road averaging on 14 points. The Redskins defense is ave 16 FPPG. This game sets up nicely for them again.

RB

Peyton Barber – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Barber has been a workhorse for the Bucs of late. He has 14 plus FP in 2 of his last 3 games. That will be 2 of his last four after Sunday. Against the Panthers, the Bucs could be forced to throw the ball.

WR

Doug Baldwin – Seattle Seahawks

Baldwin has been a fantasy bust in 2018. That trend should continue this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. This defense has only allowed 2 TDs to slot receivers through 8 weeks.

TE

Austin Hooper – Atlanta Falcons

Hopper is probably going to be in many lineups this week. Especially with the shortage of TEs given the bye weeks. If you have to do so play him with caution against the Redskins defense who is not friendly to TEs.

K

Sebastian Janikowski – Seattle Seahawks

This could be a game in which the Seahawks offense struggles. Even with the depletion of the Chargers defense, they have been top notch. That could be the same this week. Stay away from Sebas.

Defense

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams are one of the best defenses in the NFL. However, a matchup against the high-powered New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees lends some questions. Can they stay undefeated?

That is what we got for week nine. Hopefully, you are still in the race in your league(s). If not, there is always next season. Good Luck!
