Week 2 Fantasy Football Starts/Sits
Each year fantasy football is one of the biggest money-making industries in the world. Many so-called experts try to predict line-ups for the common player as well. Here at Rat Pack Sports, we are entering our fifth season of presenting our starts and sits. We do not give you players like Saquan Barkley, Tom Brady, and Odell Beckham Jr. Those names are automatic if you have them on your roster. We are here to give you the less common starters. Names you might not think of. Therefore, without further ado here are your Starts and Sits for Week Two of the 2019 NFL Season.
Lamar Jackson – Baltimore Ravens
Yes, I am riding that hot arm. He proved naysayers wrong with his performance last week. I know that Miami is not a good team. However, Arizona is not much stronger. Thus Jackson should have a strong fantasy week in week 2.
Austin Ekeler – Los Angeles Chargers
Ekeler had a three TD performance last week against the Indianapolis Colts. This week comes another favorable defense in the Detroit Lions. They gave up 25 fantasy points to David Johnson last week.
Michael Gallup – Dallas Cowboys
Gallup had a solid performance in week one. Scoring 25 fantasy points against the New York Giants. While the defense of the Washington Redskins is better, the Cowboys offense is clicking and Gallup could have another solid fantasy week.
Evan Engram – New York Giants
Engram was Eli Manning’s main man on Sunday. He caught 11 passes for 116 yards and a TD against the Dallas Cowboys. That defense is one of the better ones in the league. Sunday could see Engram continue those hot hands against the Buffalo Bills.
Austin Siebert – Cleveland Browns
Look for the Browns to bounce back from an awful performance this week against the New York Jets. The defense of the Jets surrendered 17 second half unanswered points en route to losing to the Buffalo Bills. The Browns are better than the Bills and it will show Monday night.
For three-quarters last week, the Texans defense held Drew Brees at bay. This week they face a rook QB in Gardner Minshew of the Jacksonville Jaguars. That should be a feast for a fantasy defense.
Now the players to avoid in week one.
Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings
Cousins only threw 10 passes in a win last week against the Atlanta Falcons. He will have to throw more than that against the Packers. That will lead to more mistakes by the bank hog. Plus the Packers defense is better than expected.
David Montgomery – Chicago Bears
The Bears were a mess at RB last week. They could not decide who would carry the load. In saying that, Montgomery had the least production out of the three. Thus, we are leaving the rookie on the bench this week.
Emmanuel Sanders – Denver Broncos
The offense of the Denver Broncos struggled in week one. A week two matchup against the Chicago Bears does not offer much more hope. In fact, this is one of the worst fantasy matchups of the week.
Kyle Rudolph – Minnesota Vikings
Cousins only targeted Rudolph one time last week. With a matchup against the surprise Packers on deck Sunday, I would look to keep the TE on the bench this week.
Matt Prater – Detroit Lions
Prater had a solid 11 fantasy points last week against the Cardinals. Nonetheless, we are keeping on the bench this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. They only allowed five points to Adam Vinatieri in a week 1.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints had a tough 6 points last week against the Houston Texans. This week they have to go on the road and ace the high-powered Los Angeled Rams in an NFC Championship rematch. The Rams at home are no good for anyone.
So, there you have it. Week two in the NFL. Remember fantasy seasons are not won and lost in the first couple of weeks.
